"Hey sleepy head" she smiled. "were home" Twyla smiled throwing of the bags over her shoulder and heading off the plain. taking a deep breath Kayleigh picked up her little bag and followed her quickly off the plain.
"Welcome home god i wish i was" she muttered watching Twyla as she made her way over to a large Jeep that was waiting for them right out side the doors letting out a sigh she pushed her hair back and stopped looking at the Jeep wondering what the hell she was getting her self into. looking up Twyla saw the hesitation in her sisters eyes. "sis?"
"I'm fine sis really" she smiled snapping out of it and walking on to the car putting her things in the boot she sat on the back seat with her sister gazing out of the window saying nothing all the way taking in the beautiful Canadian scenery that she once loved so much as a child.
nothing seemed to have changed it looked just like she had remembered the smile appeared back on her face as the car stopped the whole thing seemed like a nightmare again looking out the window of the first large cabin she saw her father leaning out the window. letting out a sigh she got out the car very slowly. walking out to the waters ledge she stared out not seeing her kid sister the youngest of the three run over to her knocking her into the water hugging her.
"Shelbey?" turning over she smiles seeing her sister sitting on top off her.
"Hey sis" she smiled hugging her tightly.
"Hey sis its been a long time" she replied hugging her back. At least some one looked pleased to see her if it wasn't for her two sisters there would be no way in hell would she even dream about coming back to Canada or at least back to this part.
"I have missed you so much sis"
"Missed you too sis" getting up she give her sister another then noticed her husband walking over to them.
"Jon" kayleigh acknowledged holding out her hand for him.
"So the estranged sister has returned huh" Jon laughed "welcome home its good to see you again" he smiled pulling her into a hug.
"Its good to see you again too Jon how you keeping" she asked him.
"Were all good i know the girls have missed you so much"
"Yeah well i have missed them just as much" she smiled putting her arm round Shelbey.
as they sat down to dinner the air was so thick with tension that you could cut thru it with a knife.
"So Kayleigh how was New York" her father asked her after ten minutes of silence.
"It was good i loved it there"
"So why did you come back"
"I had no choice in the matter i would have still been there, i had to come back here" she sighed thinking of gunner laying in the cold ground all alone known she could never go see him again.
"Its probably for the best any way you had nothing there any way" he replied cold heartedly.
"Excuse me i had a job i had my h..."
"Your junkie fucked up in the head of a husband"
"Dont you dare call him that how could you, i loved him and he loved me"
"Oh is that what you call it" he argued.
"May i be excused please" Kayleigh whispered feeling her temper creep up.
"You have hardly eaten sis" Shelbey whispered seeing the angry glance on her sisters face.
"I suddenly dont feel hungry any more sis" getting up she picked up her plate, dumped it in the kitchen and went up to her old room slamming the door off its hinges almost before jumping into bed and going to sleep.
Turning to look at him Twyla & Shelbey glared at their father. Before getting the chance to say anything Shelbey jumped at her father.
"Can you not keep your damn opinions to your self dad we just got her back we dont want to lose her again"
"Im not the one keeping her away from you"
"Yes dad yes you are she hates coming back here and that right there is the reason why"Twyla snapped "God i dont get to see her often as it is and we miss her and want her home permanently but shes gonna up and leave again if you keep being like this with her Gunner is dead now so just drop it will you i hate this and im sick of it all Shelbey and i just want this fighting to end we want our sister round if she wants to be with some one like that let her be" she snapped. getting up from the table Twyla walked out the room leaving her mother and father looking at each other.
"Baby" jumping out his chair Richie ran out after her following her down to the lake. "Hey Twyla whats up"
"Him he does it all the time no wonder we never get to see her when he... " starting to shake as her temper got up Richie pulled her in his arms wrapping them round her and kissed the top of her head.
"Things will get better baby you'll see" keeping her close he looked out over the waters edge still holding her in his arms.
Knocking on the door Shelbey slowly opened the door to her big sisters room slowly tip toeing round over to the bed Shelbey curled up by her sister putting her arm round her. "welcome home sis" she whispered" love you.
